Ann M. Pelan, 81 of Columbus, formerly of Schuyler passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, November 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bruno, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Linwood. Svoboda Moravec Johnson Mortuary is handling arrangements for Ann’s services.
Ann Marie was born on September 27, 1945, in Schuyler, Nebraska to Albin and Gladys (Spatz) Ustohal.
Ann attended elementary school at District 10, a rural school in Butler County, and attended Schuyler High School graduating in 1963. After high school, she went on to attend the Columbus College of Cosmetology. She then was employed by various hair salons in the area as well as owning her own.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Churches in Linwood and Schuyler. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Guild and Western Fraternal Life Association. Ann enjoyed getting together with friends over a meal, sewing, enjoying nature, and doing craft projects.
Ann is survived by several cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister Bonnie Jean.
