A Nebraska State Patrol Trooper suffered minor injuries last night on Interstate 80 near North Platte when an SUV plowed into his cruiser while the trooper was among three others providing traffic control for a crash that occurred earlier at the same site. The driver of the SUV which struck the cruiser (the second in a line of three helping block traffic for tow truck operators clearing vehicles from a fiery crash earlier in the evening) was cited for failure to move over for an emergency vehicle, no insurance, no registration and open alcohol container. The trooper was seated in his vehicle and emergency lights were operating at the time of the second crash.
