(Photo courtesy of Madison County Sheriff’s Office) Many of the stolen Madison County and State of Nebraska Road signs reported missing earlier this week – have been located, and some of those responsible for the thefts were arrested late last night according to Madison County Sheriff Todd Volk. 24-year-old Wyatt Wegener and 18-year-old Colten Mecher, both of rural Madison County have been charged with theft for unlawful taking or disposition, which is a felony; Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor; and Signs, Markers, Devices or Notices – a prohibited act. Those damaged signs are being replaced, Sheriff Volk requests that residents contact the department if they know of other missing or damaged signs – email signs@madisoncountyne.gov
