Memorial services for Shirly (Meyer) Flock age 97 of West Point, NE will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE with Pastor Priscilla Hukki officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Visitation will be on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Shirley passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE.
Shirley M. Flock was born on March 20, 1929 in West Point, NE to P. Emerson and Mabel (Dewitz) Graunke. Shirley attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #45 and graduated from West Point High School in 1946. Shirley was employed over the years at Tony’s Grocery Store, West Point Cleaners, and The Medicine Chest until retiring in 1997.
On February 15, 1948, she was united in marriage to Melvin Meyer in West Point, NE. The couple raised their family: Gerald, Timothy, Jean, Carolyn, Barbara, Donna, and Amy. As the children grew, she began working at the Medicine Chest in West Point, NE. Melvin passed away on June 8, 1987.
Shirley was united in marriage to Roger Flock on July 16, 1988 at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Roger and Shirley were active members of Grace Lutheran Church, where she counted money, belonged to S.O.S., and helped with the monthly newsletter. She and Roger enjoyed traveling together in their camper across the country. Roger passed away on December 16, 2017.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, playing cards, and making Sunday meals for her family. She helped teach her daughters how to sew for their 4-H projects and spending time with her family was always a highlight.
