Group of 15 senators send letter to Dan Osborn to fire two staffers

A group of Nebraska’s female Republican state senators are calling for independent US Senate Candidate Dan Osborn to fire two campaign consultants with ties to the now-shuttered campaign of Maine’s Graham Platner. Fifteen senators sent a letter to Osborn on the matter.

Platner withdrew from the campaign on Wednesday after multiple controversies, including sexual assault and rape allegations.

Seven current senators and six former senators signed the letter, calling for Osborn to fire media consultant Morris Katz and consultant Daniel Moraff. The letter cites a New York Post story that Katz threatened women who came forward with sexual assault allegations against Platner, and Moraff implied that Platner hasnt done anything that should disqualify him for the senate.

The letter also calls for trasnparency between Platner’s campaign and Dark Forest LLC, a company owned by Osborn’s wife.

Signers who are currently in the unicameral include Christy Armendariz of Omaha, Jana Hughes of Seward, Carolyn Bosn of Lincoln, Kathleen Kauth of Omaha, Tanya Storer of Whitman, and Teresa Ibach of Sumner.

Former State Senators Julie Slama, Theresa Thibodeau, Lydia Brasch, Joni Albrecht, Suzanne Geist, and Lou Ann Linehan also signed.

Osborn is challenging incumbent Republican Pete Ricketts and Democrat Cindy Burbank in the general election.
