The West Point City Council met in regular session in City Council Chambers Tuesday night. City Administrator Tom Goulette says action was taken on the public hearing for the annexation of a tract of land located in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 23, T22N, R6E of the 6th P.M.
Goulette says the Council also took action on the Electric Generator Project Invitation to Bid.
Goulette says the Council also approved the 2026 Cuming County Local Emergency Operations Plan at the meeting.
Goulette says the council also considered bids for the West Point Municipal Building Transformer Replacement.
Goulette says the Council also discussed the removal of the two-hour parking limitation on Main Street during the Trial Period, and there continues to be no two-hour parking limitation on Main Street.
The use of Ebikes and Scooters around West Point was also discussed. Goulette says there’s a growing concern on their use in town.
Goulette also provided an update on the Rivermist Subdivision Project.
Goulette says when it comes to the Rec Center Project, the City was not approved for the Turnback Tax and will have to look at other funding alternatives.
The Council will next meet on Tuesday, July 7th at 5:30 p.m.
