Ruth Josephine Gould was born on June 22, 1952, to Joseph and Margaret (Taylor) Gerard in Kansas City, MO. She grew up in Montrose, MO where she attended St. Marys Catholic Grade School and graduated from Montrose High School in 1970.

Ruth met her husband, Rich, at the Generals Inn dance club in Kansas City while he was attending a race at I-70 Speedway. The couple was married on February 5, 1983, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha.

While in Omaha, Ruth worked as a bookkeeper. In 1992, the family moved to West Point, where she later opened ScrappinPoint, a scrapbooking store that reflected her love for making things by hand. Ruth enjoyed designing and making wedding invitations, scrapbooking, and sharing her artistic talents with others. Ruth also served as a 4-H leader for the Monterey Magic 4-H Club and spent many years helping at the Cuming County Fair.

One of Ruths greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughter, Victoria, especially playing together and working on art projects. Family was the most important part of Ruths life, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Ruthie Gould and Amanda (Eric) Doescher; granddaughter, Victoria Doescher; sisters, Debbie (Jerry) Dines and Martha (Rick) Cook; and brother-in-law, Joseph Gunja.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Denise Gunja.
