Nebraska high school rodeo competitors stayed busy with stops in Thedford and Stapleton over the weekend, while Nebraska bareback rider Gauge McBride picked up checks on the professional rodeo trail.
At Thedford, Remi Wells won the barrel racing with a 17.919-second run, while Allyx Forre claimed victories in breakaway roping and goat tying and secured the girls all-around title. Kooper Schrunk earned the boys all-around crown.
Wells followed that performance with another barrel racing win in Stapleton, clocking a 17.590. Other winners included Brynne McCully in breakaway roping and Cazen Coffman-Smith in saddle bronc riding.
Meanwhile, McBride collected checks at both the Hood County Stampede in Granbury, Texas, and the Advantage Dirt Bares and Broncs in Ellensburg, Washington.
