May 21, 2026 (Norfolk, Neb.) — Work is expected to start on June 1st, weather permitting, on Highway 57 from Belden to Coleridge from reference post 51.12 to reference post 57.78, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Knife River Midwest, of Sioux City, is the contractor for the project. Work includes concrete pavement patching, bridge repair and asphalt paving. The project is expected to be finished sometime this fall. On approximately July 15th, the intersection of Highway 57 will be closed north of Highway 20 to perform concrete replacement, bridge repair, and railroad crossing upgrade work. Traffic will be detoured to Highway 20 and Highway 59. All other work will be performed utilizing temporary traffic signals or flaggers. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
