On Tuesday just before 1:15 a.m., a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that violated a traffic signal at South 5th Street and Madison Avenue. The officer had contact with the driver who was identified as 37-year old Ryadale Murry, of Norfolk. While speaking with Murry, the officer saw an open container of Skol brand vodka in the center console of the vehicle. The officer performed a search of the vehicle and recovered two straws that tested positive for methamphetamine and several open alcohol containers. He was taken into custody. In a further search at the Norfolk City Jail, officers recovered a small clear jar containing a white crystal substance that also tested positive for methamphetamine. Murry was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
