On Monday just after 9:00 a.m., Norfolk Police were notified by the Nebraska State Patol of a Silver Dodge Durango entering Norfolk from South Highway 81 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle had failed to stop for a Trooper that was attempting a traffic stop. The Trooper discontinued the attempted traffic stop and the fleeing vehicle turned west on West Omaha Avenue, still traveling at a high rate of speed. As the Durango approached the intersection of 25th Street and Hwy 275 Bypass, it collided with Subaru SUV. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicle by Norfolk Fire & Rescue, and both were transported the Faith Health Hospital. A Tilden man, 24-year old Aaron Morse, who allegedly caused the crash after fleeing law enforcement, is facing a felony charge of operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest-willful reckless, a crime that carries with it up to two years in prison. Morse is being held on $50,000 bond.
