Omaha Public Power District announced last week that the CEO of the utility – Javier Fernandez was stepping down to pursue other opportunities that would be beneficial to his family. That resignation effective this January 1st. A committee was formed to determine an interim CEO and make official recommendation at the board’s November 17th meeting. The committee has recommended Troy Via, OPPD’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Utility Operations. Once Via is approved by the board, Fernandez says he will work closely with Via to ensure a smooth transition while the search for a permanent CEO is underway.
