NORTH PLATTE, NE – The Mid Term Rally is underway in North Platte at the D&N Event Center where five speakers have taken the stage.
First was Mary Jane Truemper, chairwoman of the Nebraska GOP. She thanked all who made the event a reality, and thanked the third district for fighting the good fight. She wrapped by saying: “I’m Mary Jane, and I love this state!” followed up with “Bad things happen when Republicans don’t vote.”
Next was North Platte state senator Mike Jacobsen. Jacobsen says that he admires Vance’s story, and his rise from humble beginnings to the VP, and says that this is the most important election of our lifetime. He ended his speech with “Let’s keep Nebraska red, and America strong.”
The third speaker was State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg, who used his time at the mic more like a campaign event unlike the previous two speakers. After being appointed by Pillen, this is his first statewide election. He discussed Trump accounts, unclaimed property, and home ownership.
Speaker 4, Mike Hilgers: Discussed all the threats from other states, including Colorado (Perkins Co Canal) Also discussed the rise of democratic socialism, and said that we have to evangelize (I would mean more of the political kind than the religious). Challenged the crowd to look to the young people and ensure that Nebraska stays great for their futures as well.
Speaker 5, Adrian Smith: had the first “GO BIG RED” of the day, mentioned his work in the house chambers to recognize the North Platte canteen, also successes of the Trump admin in these 2 years. A mention of year round E15 (which Smith and Deb Fischer have championed) gets some cheers.
More to come as we await Vice President JD Vance to take the stage.
