During a visit to West Point Tuesday as part of a tour of northeast Nebraska, University of Nebraska System president Jeffrey Gold addressed the West Point business community hosted by the chamber of commerce at the Neilsen Community Center – and the visit has a purpose according to Dr. Gold:
Dr. Gold has taken the information gathered during this tour to the University of Nebraska Board of Regents meeting today. The Board of Regents also considered eliminating unused or underused degree programs. UNL will no longer offer bachelor’s degrees in Ethnic Studies and Insect Science. University of Nebraska at Kearney will eliminate its comprehensive music undergraduate program, Modern Languages with German Emphasis, and Master’s level of Student Affairs. University of Nebraska at Omaha will cease to offer Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Master’s in Urban Studies. Executive Business Analytics Graduate Certificate and select post-baccalaureate certificates at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
