BURWELL — A traveling museum celebrating the United States’ 250th anniversary will make a stop in Burwell during Nebraska’s Big Rodeo.
The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum, known as the “Freedom Truck,” will be open July 22 through July 25 at the Burwell Parish Center, located at 747 I Street.
The custom-built mobile exhibit uses interactive technology, multimedia storytelling, and hands-on activities to explore the nation’s founding, major moments in American history, and innovations shaping the country’s future.
The traveling museum is designed to bring educational exhibits directly to communities rather than requiring families to travel to Washington, D.C.
“We are excited to welcome the Freedom Truck to Burwell during one of Nebraska’s most celebrated traditions,” Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Secretary Keri Koenigsberg said. “Nebraska’s Big Rodeo brings together families and visitors from across the country, making it a wonderful opportunity to share an engaging educational experience that honors our nation’s history and inspires future generations.”
The museum will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. on July 22 and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 23 through July 25.
The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum Tour will continue traveling across the country throughout 2026 as part of the United States Semiquincentennial celebration.
