Lynda L. Suhr, 86, of Pender, NE, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, NE. The visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. The Funeral will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Karen McNeill-Utecht will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.
Lynda was born on December 31, 1939, in Ft. Dodge, IA, the daughter of M. Craig and Mabel C. (Opheim) Carter. At an early age, the family moved to Pender, where she graduated from Pender High School in 1957. Lynda was united in marriage to Roger L. Suhr in Pender, NE, on June 17, 1957. To this union, Steve and Suzy were born. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Pender Public School before working in the Thurston County Treasurer’s Office. In 1976, Lynda went to work at the Pender State Bank. She worked there for over 45 years, retiring on her 82nd birthday in 2021.
Lynda was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Quilters and volunteered at Thriftique in Pender and enjoyed reading, crosswords, word search, and jigsaw puzzles. She especially enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her friends and family.
Lynda is survived by her son, Steve (Deb) Suhr; daughter, Suzy (Mike) Hastings; grandchildren, Amy (Shawn) Shoup, Matt (Lindsay) Hastings, Jeremy Hastings, Brandi (Nick) Dirks, and Jaymi Suhr; great-grandchildren, Lillian Hastings, Anna Hastings, Carter Dirks, Kaylee Dirks, and Dylan Dirks; brothers, Erle (Candie) Carter, Chuck (Marti) Carter; brothers-in-law, Richard (Bonny) Suhr, Butch (Nancy) Suhr; sister-in-law, Sharolyn Fett; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Roger in 2016; and a brother-in-law, Roger Fett.
