The Norfolk City Council approved Phase I of the Skyview Lake Trail Lighting Project. This is the first step of what will be a long-term, ongoing project, to improve year-round use of the park. This first phase includes the installation of solar-powered trail lighting along the section of trail from the restroom facility to 25th Street. The project will cost $104,129 and is being funded through a combination of donations and left over money from a parking lot project at the park. The City plans to request additional funding later this year to extend the lighting from the entrance west of 18th Street to the parking lot. (If approved, that phase would create a continuous lighted trail segment from 18th Street to 25th Street).
