On Tuesday just after 1:45 p.m., Norfolk Police officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of South 1st Street following a report of a disturbance involving a female armed with a knife.
Prior to officers arriving, the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Chloe S. Porter, 28, homeless, left the scene in a dark blue Ford Fusion. An officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Porter was the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from both Porter and the vehicle. Porter displayed slurred speech and other signs of impairment. After being requested to provide a preliminary breath test sample, Porter refused. She was arrested for driving under the influence and driving during revocation.
During the investigation at the residence, the reporting party, stated that he and Porter, who are involved in an on-again, off-again romantic relationship, had been consuming alcohol and they became involved in an argument.
During this argument, Porter retrieved a knife from her vehicle and used it to stab the side door of the residence while he remained inside. He reported barricading the door with a cooler. Porter allegedly used the knife to damage the door, break decorative glass panels in the door, and shatter glass in two adjacent windows. Officers observed approximately 25 stab marks in the door and broken glass scattered on the ground.
The reporting party reported that while Porter was breaking the windows, she reached through one of the openings and cut his right arm with the knife while making threats to kill him. The injury was approximately 1½ inches long. The victim declined medical treatment.
The knife used during the incident was recovered from Porter’s vehicle.
Porter was arrested on charges including driving under the influence, driving during revocation, terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony, second degree assault, and criminal mischief. She was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madsion County Jail.
