Clara B. Kaup, 74 years, of Lyons, formerly of Howells, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at her Home in Lyons.
Clara Beth Kaup was born on October 3, 1951, to Willard and Dorothy (Hartman) Schrad in West Point, Nebraska. She passed away on May 19, 2026, at her home in Lyons, Nebraska.
Clara graduated from West Point Public High School. On August 24, 1970, Clara was united in marriage to David Kaup. From this union, they raised five children.
Clara loved to crochet items for family and friends. She loved gardening, reading, and spending as much time as possible with her grandkids.
Clara worked many jobs throughout her life. She was a CNA, school cook, waitress, electrician, and grocery store owner/manager. She was also employed at the Bluebird Nursery, spent some years as an EMT, and worked other jobs over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Dorothy Schrad; father-in-law Richard Kaup; and niece Carrie Kaup.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband David; son Neil (Jennifer Ingram) Kaup; daughter Stacy (Aaron Lee) Kaup; daughter Kim (Jeremy) Koenig; son Joel (Tonya) Kaup; daughter Jessica (Daniel) Cech; grandchildren: Nikko William, Candyce Kaup, Katryna Hartman, MaKinah Stenwall, Micah Stenwall, Keyleigh Stenwall, Nevaeh Kaup, Cash Renz, Carter Kaup, Tucker Kaup, Kaydence Cech, Everly Cech, and Hadley Cech; great grandchildren Liberty, Amelia, and Kensleigh; and brothers Gus Schrad and Michael Schrad.
FUNERAL MASS: Saturday, May 23, 2026, 10:30 am, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons
MEMORIAL VISITATION: Friday 5-7 pm with a WAKE SERVICE at 7 pm all at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lyons
