The road to the College National Finals Rodeo is officially set following the final Great Plains Region rodeo of the season at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Rodeo Team. Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team capped a dominant year by winning the men’s team title and qualifying a strong group of athletes for the CNFR in Casper, Wyoming.
Mid-Plains finished first in the men’s team standings, while Southeast Community College Rodeo Team placed fourth and UNL finished seventh. On the women’s side, UNL finished second with Mid-Plains taking fourth.

The latest episode of Nebraska Rodeo Update featured an interview with Trace Scarlavai as he prepares to defend his national title at the CNFR. The two-time Great Plains Region bull riding champion discussed the daily work that goes into competing at a high level, including frequent practice sessions and time on the drop barrel.

Outside of the college ranks, the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association wrapped up competition in Burwell with winners crowned across two days of action. Competitors including Kanin Heath, Remi Wells, Annie Hawkins and Aaron Hall highlighted the weekend results.
