Latest Jeopardy! Winner from Lincoln

Lincoln native Tristian Williams was the big winner yesterday on Jeopardy!, winning $20,000 and continuing his run to a second day.

The data engineer will look to continue his winnings into a second day today.

Round 1 Categories were “Big Business”, “4-Syllable Words”, “Sports Nicknames”, “The Great State Of…”, “We Love Islands”, and “I got a text!”.

Tristan had the correct guess on the first question of the day. He would gamble big with the daily double in the first round, and despite the wrong guess on his $4,000 wager, he would lead after the first round with $2,000. Returning champion Shanon Crisenberry had $1,600, and Lauren Black was sitting at -$1,800.

Second round categories included “Positively Prefixed”, “It’s Simple Physics”, “5 by 5”, “1840s America”, “Silence”, and “Celebrity Bird Collective Nouns”.

Another $4,000 wager in the daily double would go his way, in the 1840’s America category. In a rare occurrence, Williams would land on both Daily Double squares back-to-back, but his $5,000 wager was unsuccessful with the question from the It’s Simple Physics category. Williams entered Final Jeopardy with a commanding lead of $20,400 to Crisenberry’s $7,400. Black was unable to compete, as she was in third place at -$800.

Williams did not get the Final Jeopardy question right from the Geographic History category, but his wager of $400 kept him in the lead and gave him the win.

Today Williams will go up against Helen Yoas, a retired librarian from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and Robert Yan, a Language Expert from Huntsville, Alabama.
