Following an investigation by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office and with assistance from the Nebraska Humane Society out of Omaha a Pilger couple was charged with 52 counts of Animal Neglect that included four felony counts and each were also charged with one count of Child Neglect. 44-year old Daniel Scott and 32-year old Paige Scott appeared in court on Tuesday on the animal neglect charges and will appear on the child neglect charges at a later date. Numerous animals were removed from their residence last month and placed in the custody of the humane society. Both Scott’s were released from custody on $3000 appearance bonds.
