Mike Mack age 76 of West Point, NE passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Stanton Health Center. A celebration of his life will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. Private family interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Lincoln, NE at a later date.
Mike was born on August 13, 1949 in Macon, GA, to Delbert and Marianne (Wozlein) Mack. As the son of a Air Force serviceman, he spent his childhood living in various places before the family settled in Lincoln, NE.
In 1972, Mike married Mary Jo McFarland. Together they raised four sons. The family later moved to West Point, NE, after Mike purchased an auto body and repair shop.
Mike was a passionate baseball fan and avid collector of baseball memorabilia. He was also a gifted artist who enjoyed drawing charcoal portraits of Major League players and often obtained their autographs on the finished works. He later used his artistic talent in another meaningful way-creating portraits of fallen service members and presenting them to their families.
Mike had a deep love for classic cars. He restored several of his favorite models, with a 1955 Chevrolet being his most cherished. He took airbrush classes and used his talent to create custom graphics on motorcycles and automobiles.
He was a devoted family man, who loved traveling with his wife and children on family trips. He especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play sports.
Mike will be remembered as a talented artist, a hardworking businessman, a passionate sports fan, and a loving husband, father and grandfather whose creativity and warmth touched everyone around him.
